Whether you are aware of it or not, your mind might be going restless with the lack of usual stimulation your lifestyle brings. There is nothing wrong with an active social life or lifestyle, but there are certainly great benefits in learning to become still and calm on command. Your animals will thank you for it too!
Train Your Mind to Stay Present
It’s pretty clear to say that if you are one of the many that must self-isolate, your mind now has less distractions to keep it busy. Particularly if you are going through some major changes in your life or you’re feeling lonely your mind will take advantage take you through some challenging thought processes. Whilst contemplation and reflection is great for self-development, you don’t need the extra anxiety during this time. Meditation will help train your brain to stay in the moment – to focus on what you can change and let go of what you cannot. It is a very liberating feeling!
Meditation can regulate your emotions
It has been proven by countless studies that when you are in high emotions, we find it more difficult to think rationally, and it can be difficult to get yourself out of the negative thinking cycle, which can rile up your emotions even more. If you have an important meeting, a major social event or you are not used to being alone, meditation can help you become calm and still, just like water. It helps you to step outside your emotions and look at the situation in a positive and calm way.
Your animals LOVE when you are in a meditative state
No matter what animal you have – horse, dog, cat, ferret, llama or bird they all love it when you are in a calm and centred state. You will notice when you are in a highly charged emotional state, your animals will move away from you. That crazy erratic energy disturbs your animals’ energy state and feels out of balance for them. They can read our energy, and they know when you are at peace, and when you are restless. Horses show this very well; no matter how hard you try to be calm on the outside, you can’t fool them. A horse always knows how you are feeling. By meditating for up to 5 minutes every day, you will find your animals will LOVE being around you. You may even notice when you begin to meditate, your animals will come forward and join you!
You will be able to have a CONVERSATION with your animals
Of course for those who have taken our workshops or seminars, a busy mind means you cannot hear or talk to your animals and vice versa. The animals say that when they try to talk to their people, it is like receiving a busy signal on the phone. They can’t be heard through all the thoughts going through your head. It is hard to compete with the worries of work, relationships, family, and lifestyle. But now that you have the chance to slow down, your animals are really excited to start talking with you. It starts with a clear and quiet mind, and that is where meditation comes in. You will be talking with your animals in no time!
Meditation is a wonderfully successful way to start and end your day
When you are running a full and busy lifestyle, it is easy to be scattered in the mind. You have a million things to do and your mental energy is split to those million things. No wonder you are mentally exhausted and its only lunchtime! By doing up to 10 minutes of meditation each morning, you can set up your mind to be focused on one thing at a time, so you are completely present doing each task successfully. My cats constantly tell me slow down, do one thing at a time. Meditation is just as beneficial at the end of the day. Spending 10 minutes in light meditation can regroup your energy, help you reflect on the day’s events and settle your energy down for sleep.
Meditation is for you, and only you
Whether you are in isolation or working on the frontline during this pandemic, meditation is your own special space that no one can take from you. It is YOUR time where you can stop, be still and rest. It is scientifically proven that 20 minutes of meditation is equivalent to 2 hours of sleep. Meditation is the gateway to visualising your dreams. No matter what is going on in the world, visualising in that wonderful state of being is powerful – you can achieve anything.
You can start with any timeframe you like – whether it is 10 minutes or half hour, guided meditation or silent it is up to you. Your progress is your own business.
